Tucked in the quiet neighbourhood of Waterloo Street, on the fifth floor of Block 261, is St Vincent Home.  It is a centre for the elderly destitute who are ambulant and who are able to manage their daily activities on their own .  Having no immediate family members to care for them, and surviving on public assistance, these individuals live out their sunset years in quiet dignity and serenity; watching the days pass by, sharing time with friends and watching the latest Chinese drama serials in the common room.  It is a place of community for the residents and a place where they can be themselves among friends.

Imagining their way to a better future – Singaporeans Shine at Imagine Cup 2012.

Youth, idealism and technological prowess went hand-in-hand at this year’s Microsoft Imagine Cup held in Sydney, Australia.

Its aim? To unite people in imagining a world where technological innovation can help solve some of the toughest problems.

Held over 6-11 July at the Sydney Convention Centre in Darling Harbour, the competition brought together more than 350 tech student finalists from 75 countries to compete in competitions ranging from Software Design to IT challenges.
